On [most] Mondays, I share my mixed tape of a smattering of thoughts, ideas, videos, songs, etc. that stuck out to me in the past week. Here is this Monday’s mix:
::My kids are a fan of the videos they have seen by the Holderness family and this one is a recent holiday favorite of theirs.
::The Christmas songs I enjoy the most are often originals or a really good cover of an old favorite. One of my favorite original songs is “Toy Packaging” by Sara Groves and one of my favorite covers is JJ Heller’s rendition of “Star of Wonder.”
::I also really, really love Relient K’s album “Let it Snow, Baby, Let in Reindeer” this time of year and even on into the first week of January. They are a talented crew of songwriters/musicians/singers.
::Just for fun, I wanted to highlight a local restaurant Seth and I ate at last week. Seth said his sandwich from 80/20 in Norfolk was probably one of the best he has ever had (his sandwich was called “pee wee” if you take a peak at the salivation-causing menu). I’m a fan of their long list of aioli choices for 50 cents to pair with your sandwich or fries or both! Or why not just order several and have a tasting?
::Okay, one more song…I recently heard Sovereign Grace’s “Who Would Have Dreamed.” Such moving lyrics!
