Mixed Tape Monday 11.25.19

On [most] Mondays, I share my mixed tape of a smattering of thoughts, ideas, videos, songs, etc. that stuck out to me in the past week. Here is this Monday’s mix:

::JJ Heller is often a regular part of my mixed tape Mondays.  This recent video of hers brought tears to my eyes.

::Next up is a video from Switchfoot.  They revamped their song “Voices” thanks to Lindsey Stirling’s talent.

::Parenting is a really tough job.  I fail at it every day.  This article from Desiring God helped me to put some things in perspective, even as I think about the long-term for my children’s lives.  It isn’t supposed to be about me!

::I haven’t read or watched much about the transformation of Kanye West but I found this article by Bryan Loritts helpful.  As I’ve heard various conversations over the past month, I have thought about the radical conversion of the apostle Paul as well as singer Keith Green.  I would imagine it is very difficult to take the journey Kanye is taking while in the spotlight.

::Last but not least, I know I’ve mentioned these before around this time of year but here are a few of our favorite picture books for November:  Balloons Over Broadway by Melissa Sweet, An Outlaw Thanksgiving by Emily Arnold McCully, Cranberry Thanksgiving by Wende and Henry Devlin and The Firefighters’ Thanksgiving by Maribeth Boelts.
