On [most] Mondays, I share my mixed tape of a smattering of thoughts, ideas, videos, songs, etc. that stuck out to me in the past week. Here is this Monday’s mix:
I love to find good alphabet review books to read through with my two-year-old and four-year-old and I think A Railway ABC by Jack Townend is so charming. I love the old-fashioned look of the illustrations.
Big Mama Thornton’s version of Hound Dog is possibly not as widely known as Elvis Presley’s version but apparently, Big Mama’s rendition was more what the song-writers, Leiber and Stoller, were going for, so check out her song here.
Right after God tells Moses he is going on a mission to Pharoah to get him to release the Israelites from slavery, he tries to kill Moses. What?! I never noticed this in Exodus chapter 4 until I was reading the other day and I was so perplexed. This article was helpful to me to shed a little light on it, particularly Gignilliat’s last couple paragraphs.
My nieces and nephew introduced us to The Lemonade Machine the other day–an effort that would make any Physics teacher proud.
