Mixed Tape Monday 9.16.19

On [most] Mondays, I share my mixed tape of a smattering of thoughts, ideas, videos, songs, etc. that stuck out to me in the past week. Here is this Monday’s mix:

::Seth and I have both enjoyed reading this tale to the kids this week.  I love a good ending and I think author Bill Langdo does an especially good job with this.

::I think their stuff has been playing on the radio for a while now but I have just discovered how much I like Gone West’s music.  I love how their songs tell a story and the tight-knit chemistry between the four friends, as well as their give and take of beautiful vocals and harmonies.  This video of This Time is one of my current favorites.  Oh, and if you ever were or still are a Colbie Caillat fan, she is part of the band!

::The song “No Roots” is so catchy and my hubby discovered this cover the other day which is by The Petersens (bonus:  we recognized Emmett Franz on the resonator guitar who used to sing with The Franz Family who I’ve highlighted on previous mixed tapes).

::On “date-night-in” Seth and I watched Alfred Hitchcock’s classic, “Dial M for Murder.” It is quite entertaining.  Watch for Hitchcock’s cameo somewhere in the first half of the movie.
