Mixed Tape Monday – 8.26.19

On [most] Mondays, I share my mixed tape of a smattering of thoughts, ideas, videos, songs, etc. that stuck out to me in the past week. Here is this Monday’s mix:

::I’ll admit that I am not at all familiar with Darryl “DMC” McDaniels’s music but I found this story by him so intriguing.

::I met Sarah Tisdale a couple months ago at Virginia ‘Moot (a smaller-scale version of Hutchmoot that I went to last year) and just recently was checking out all her amazing work.  She paints at weddings, LIVE.  Her work is gorgeous (reminding me a little of what I love about the impressionists like Monet and Renoir) and this is definitely an awesome wedding present for any bride and groom!

::Preschool began at our house last week and I themed a lot of our lessons around apples.  A friend directed me to this great book, “How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World.”  I loved the humor, the pictures, and the way the story helps kids see outside of their little world.

::Need a hearty muffin recipe besides the good ol’ morning glory muffins?  I really like this one which contains peanut butter, oats, and bananas.  They go fast!
