Mixed Tape Monday 4.23.18

I just saw this article today about well-traveled artist José Naranja and thought the sketches and writing were so beautiful.  Take a look.

Ben Rabb’s video is my recent favorite among the Tiny Desk Contest submissions.  I love lyrics that seem to come from a real story and this song definitely tells a sad story that seems to come from real circumstances.  I like the line “where the birch wood and ocean meet” and how he ties the beginning verse of the song with the ending of the song.  Tomorrow the winner of the NPR Tiny Desk Contest will be announced but you can go here and preview all the submissions before then.

And last but not least, I enjoyed seeing what this family is doing to raise money to adopt a baby.  This video is a bit old but I gather that they are still raising funds.
