Alexandra Day illustrated one of my favorite children’s books, The Teddy Bear’s Picnic, which I remember from when I was a kid and now read in our home. She is also author/illustrator of the books about Carl the dog. Her pictures are so life-like (well, as life-like as a book about teddy bears on a picnic can be ; -) and so colorful.
As a homemaker, I am always looking for ways to create more order in our home. One of my goals for 2016 is to apply the book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo. I think it is definitely worth reading (or listening to, in my case). I picked up some good tips and have so far gone through my clothing and books and am aghast/happy/surprised at how much STUFF I have held onto that is just taking up precious closet or shelf real estate.
I finally took my friend Lauren’s advice and tried the app Ibotta. It really is better than coupons like they say. I prefer to make my grocery list first and then I go through the list of items for the store I am going to and “unlock” the rebates I want to use. When I get home from the store, it is pretty easy to scan and take photos in order to document what purchases I made. Once I have $20 or more in rebates, I can move it to Paypal or if I have $25, turn it into a gift card for a date with Seth. Pretty sweet!
I am a sucker for a good chocolate chip cookie or oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. These Softbatch Cream Cheese Chocolate Chip Cookies are dangerously delicious. Why not make some for the big game on Sunday…and maybe make enough to share with me? 🙂
